Husband and wife duo Stephen Rogers and Alison Yoder bring the Mediterranean sister to their first restaurant Gemma. The menu is filled with small plates meant to be shared. Personal favorites include the tabbouleh, ricotta gnocchi, and the grilled Branzino with swiss chard, marcona almonds, and lemon vinaigrette.
Michelin-starred Chef Bruno Davaillon is behind the kitchen in Bullion. Boasting a range of classic and contemporary French dishes. Not only does Bullion exceed all expectations for its dishes, but also for its world class design. There is a sense of entering a life size jewelry box from the moment you enter the restaurant. Entwined near the grand gold staircase is Jean-Michel Othoniel’s large-scale glass sculpture, Necklace of Dreams. You might recognize Othoniel’s work from the time you visited New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Louvre. Martin Brudnizki is the brilliant interior designer behind the richly decorated restaurant filled with exceptional detail, mid-century furniture upholstered in mohair velvet and leather with beautiful brass hardware. The Hartland-Mackie’s are behind the concept and without a hit the mark (and then some) on every category from service, food, architecture, interior design, and art.
Sister restaurant to Town Hearth and Neighborhood Services, Montlakecut is lesser known but not any less delicious. I keep coming back for their oysters. The decor is all nautical themed which I love.
The art may change from time to time and restaurants come and go, but Bilboquet will forever and always be my favorite restaurant in Dallas. With white table cloths and french bistro chairs, the setting is simple yet elegant and the service is the best in Dallas. My favorite dish is either their famous Cajun chicken or the halibut.
The relatively new sister restaurant to Bilboquet is also a favorite. Come to Up on Knox for their oysters and seafood. I always love a seat on the red velvet booth tucked away in the back. They also have a great outdoor seating area and private room in the back.
